Who we are

Alaska Úlfhéðnar (the “Organization,” “we,” “us”) operates akulfhednar.org and is the data controller for this site. AKUMedia (DBA Alaska Outlaws LLC) provides hosting and technical operations as our data processor.

Content on this site is cultural/educational. It is non-clinical and not a substitute for medical/mental-health, legal, or financial advice.

What we collect

Information you provide

  • Contact details (e.g., name, email) and the contents of messages or forms you submit (including event/appearance inquiries or guidance requests).
  • Newsletter sign-up information (email and preferences).

Information collected automatically (“Usage Data”)

  • IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring/exit pages, timestamps, pages viewed, and general location (country/region).
  • Cookies or similar technologies needed to run, secure, and improve the site; and (if enabled) analytics cookies.

We do not collect payment card data on akulfhednar.org. If you donate via a third-party processor, your payment information is handled directly by that provider under their policy.

How we use information

  • To operate, secure, and improve the site.
  • To respond to your messages and requests.
  • To send newsletters or updates you opt into (you can unsubscribe anytime).
  • To prevent fraud/abuse and to comply with law.

Legal bases (where applicable): legitimate interests, your consent (e.g., newsletters/cookies), performance of a contract (responding to a request you made), and legal obligations.

Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies necessary for site functionality and security. If analytics are enabled, we use them to understand aggregate usage and improve content. You can control cookies in your browser, and where a consent tool is present, we honor your choices.

Do Not Track. Browsers send DNT signals inconsistently; at this time we do not respond to DNT, but we honor selections made via our cookie choices where available.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers as needed to run the site (e.g., hosting, email delivery, analytics, uptime/security). Each provider is bound by contract to safeguard your information and use it only for our purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a reorganization of the Organization’s operations.

Retention

  • Logs/Usage Data: typically ~90 days.
  • Messages & inquiries: as long as needed to respond and maintain records.
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
    We may retain some information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.

Your choices & rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. To exercise rights, email privacy@akulfhednar.org. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You can unsubscribe from newsletters via the link in any email. You can manage cookies via your browser and (where available) our cookie tool.

Children

This site is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (TLS encryption in transit, access controls, logging). No system is 100% secure; please use the internet with care.

International transfers

Our site and providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective date above. If changes materially reduce your privacy rights for information previously collected, we will seek your consent as required by law.
