As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Dagen’s Indsigt

Each morning, I engage in conversation with my gods. During which they offer me wisdom and guidance, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my experiences throughout the years, and especially over the last several decades, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s talks. However, as I offer you the wisdom given to me, I encourage you to seek the answers within yourself, as each of us travels a different path, therefore our perspectives are a little different. 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Sowilo, the rune of wholeness. While some of our previous experiences may have created chaos within our thought process and emotional states, we have now discovered a path to the joining of ourselves in an effort toward wholeness. Discovering our life’s purpose should offer us some recognition of the energy of hope, and its capabilities to guide us toward the future, hopefully offering us some faith in the outcome.

Our present influence reveals Thurisaz, the rune of enthusiasm. Today, in our present we are revealed the rune of enthusiasm with cautions, for there exists a balance between the offering of wisdom and the enforcement of it. While our journey has offered us many experiences that have provided some lessons, we must remember that these lessons have been for our benefit and growth, and will not fit to everyone else. Each traveler is somewhere along their path, and while the wider vision may be similar, the individual steps of our path are different.

To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Inguz. While the future path may include many turns that we are incapable of predicting today, our goal of joining our parts (that of spiritual and physical) cannot be overstated. However, we must also remember that to obtain enlightenment we must understand the filters in which our heart and mind interpret those experiences we have. To fully embrace this, spending time in meditation and intrinsic reflection offers us the step in which to elevate ourselves up the stairway of our existence.

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Wunjo, and today it offers us cautions. As we move forward in our trajectories, we must remember that wishful thinking is perfectly acceptable, it must be accompanied by “real-world” action steps forward. We must never forget the lessons of our past which may have included betrayal, alienation, strife, deception, or the blindness of danger.  It is acceptable to have our “heads in the clouds”, as long as we remember to keep “our feet on the ground.”

In today’s drawing of the runes, we are shown that our growth depends on taking time for the self. By healing both the body and mind, we stabilize ourselves moving forward that we continue our trajectory toward our destiny.
