Forfædres Belysning is our morning affirmations that help us get our energy going in the right direction. Recorded every weekday morning at 6:55 AM (Alaska time) the show points out the five (5) major gods associated with each weekday.

• Monday is Mani day, the god of the moon. Mani represents the control and ability to moderate the world in which we live. Like the physical representation of the moon controls the tides, and the temperate days and nights here on Midgard, we can embrace this energy to control the temperature of our mental spaces, allowing for better mental health.
• Tuesday is for the Norse god Tyr. Tyr is one of the older gods from Norse legend and lore. He represents the law and justice, yet equally importantly he represents that of courage. Courage to face those fears we have inside and become the person our ancestors want us to be.
• Ah yes, Wednesday is Woden’s day, or Odin’s day, as Woden was the Germanic way to say Odin. Odin represents the constant quest for knowledge and just as valuable, wisdom. Wisdom is that innate ability we have that can relate many different facets of our lives together to determine the best path moving forward. Odin was willing to sacrifice the physical sensory (his eye) for a drink of the well of wisdom that resided at the root of Yggdrasil. This indicates that we should put more faith in what we feel from our ancestors than that which we see.
• Thursday is Thor’s day. Even though the modern Marvel films indicate his association with thunder, the Norse god Thor represents many different requirements of our physical life time. Firstly, he was the protector of the realm of Midgard, protecting it from the frost giants and other nasty inhabitants of the nine realms. However, his real benefit was his example of strength, not as much physically (although he had a lot of that), it represents the strength of mind. To withstand the influence of negative energies and retain a good mental balance.
• Friday is Freyja’s day. That’s right, no week would be acceptable without bringing the goddess of war, love, passion, and yes, magic, into our lives. Freyja represents the ability to understanding the energies of the realm and manipulate them as you see fit. By taking control of the energies that attempt to influence our thought processes, we become the masters of our destiny, never succumbing to the path of the fates.

As you can see, the morning illumination helps us to see the path toward controlling that energy that we have inside by managing the influences that may affect us every day. By taking charge of our emotional journey and how that affects our mind, we become that which we look to for inspiration. The Morning illumination hopefully gives us some inspiration to adopting our energy management into our lives.
