The Runes

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Berkano. Today Berkano is offering us cautions as we move into our present. The cautions remind us of the unwanted energies we have created in the past that led us to this point in our existence. Today Berkano reminds us to leave behind that energy that we have created in the past that no longer has any value to our forward momentum, or may be actively holding us back from the success we are seeking. Today, we are taking note of these feelings, and actively seeking to repeat them. Our present influence is that of Ehwaz, and today it too advises us to apply caution to our present. Today, Ehwaz advises us to be wary of establishing trust with individuals who may not warrant it. At the same time, it reminds us to hold our friends close, being careful to not create enemies, by indecision and mistrust between these individuals. Embracing our intent, and applying it to ensuring our desired relationships are maintained, especially should there be any strain in the collected experiences. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Sowilo. Our future path lies out there, leading away from where we stand at this moment. Our future path includes coming to understand our life’s purpose. This is a major consideration as many struggle to reach this point. Using the lessons we have extracted from our past without the emotional havoc of the heart and mind; our awakening is on the horizon. Soon we shall arrive on the shores of wholeness and the seat of the soul. Our path is paved with honor to the self, and to our ancestors. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Isa. Isa is the self-identity an self-image, and the ego. The energy surrounding Isa is the necessary stasis, and contraction needed for us to reflect intrinsically on the mental facilities necessary to accomplish our objectives and goals. Isa represents the unification of the self, and establishing the balance of the selves. This is something that the universe is defining that we have already accomplished, therefore it is saying that we should continue that journey by maintaining the balance between the consciousness and the ego.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Ihwaz. Ihwaz reminds us of the power of the Chakra system within ourselves. By channeling the universe’s energy offerings, we can thereby direct that energy to the parts within the self that needs to heal. Regardless of whether we are dealing with the heart, the mind, or the body somewhere, the energy provided to us through these Chakra can heal. It also reveals that you have initiated your journey into a greater understanding of all these energies. Our present influence is that of Othala. Today Othala issues us cautions as we move into the present. Othala reveals that our fear of those states that we don’t want are still weighing heavily on our mind and receiving far too much of our current energy stream. Let go of our fears and uncertainty of those things, consider changing our perspective to allow the visions and understanding of paradise and utiopia for our intrinsic self really means. Othala is the source of our ancestors, actively seek them and they will enlighten you further. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Ansuz. Ansuz represents the state of actively listening. However, Ansuz also stipulates that by being in the active state of listening, we are listening with both our ears and our heart. While the ears provide an interpreted part of the message received, by listening with the heart we are manipulating our emotional filters in such a way that the message received is closer to the reality in which it is sent. There is much that can be gained in communications when listening with both the ears, and the heart. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Algiz. Algiz is the higher self, it represents the part of each of us that connects us with the gods. It reminds us of the clear lines of communications between the physical self, the spiritual self, and the spirits of that realm. By retaining this meaning within our hearts, we carry forward our awakening, and connection to the gods. Maintaining a priority with our communications with these spiritual entities provides returned energy that will help us grow and heal.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Gebo. Gebo reminds us today of the lessons we have absorbed throughout our past. Most importantly, Gebo speaks to us intimately about the greatest gift we can offer ourselves, and that is the gift of forgiveness. By learning to allow the past’s lessons to provide only that which is needed to maintain our path, we must disregard much of the emotional energy from the past that we may move forward without the burden of this energy. Our present influence is that of Odinn’s Rune. Odinn’s rune requires additional interaction with the god himself to ascertain what it is that he wishes to convey. After this prayer, Odinn has revealed to me that the lessons of the past need to be separated from that which we carry as emotional alterations caused by this past. Define the lessons we have learned, and cut our losses, whatever they may be. Our past journey cannot be changed, therefore by wallowing in the emotional turmoil caused by it, we need to learn and move on. While some may invoke primal reactions now, they must be learned and discarded. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Sowilo. Our future path lies out there, leading away from where we stand at this moment. Our future path includes coming to understand our life’s purpose. This is a major consideration as many struggle to reach this point. It typically represents that of self-mastery, and most importantly the "from" in our intrinsic narrative. Remembering that we cannot change our past, it is time to step forward with confidence and understanding our destiny that awaits.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Ansuz. Ansuz reminds us today of the times throughout our past where it was important to listen. Listening not only with the ears, but with the heart as well. Communications between beings regardless of their physical form is a two-way street. The design of the human form to include two ears and only one mouth would indicate that we are to perform twice as much listening as we do speaking.  Stability within the mind can occur when we process what is being said instead of formulating a retaliatory statement. Our present influence is that of Inguz. Inguz being revealed in our present indicates that we are seeking wholeness and beginning to recognize that we have been here all along, only the filters and masks placed on that by others have prevented us from seeing it. Using the skills of the past to listen to our ancestors can we truly hope this wholeness we seek. Using time in intrinsic reflection (meditation) we can sort through the white noise of modern society to discover the truth that comes from our spiritual ancestors. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Nauthiz. Our future path lies out there, leading away from where we stand at this moment. To accomplish this future path, we must be willing and able to put one foot in front of the other as we actively seek to move in the direction of our destiny. Our future includes many manual steps that we need to actively engage in which to reach them. Nauthiz reveals the action steps and mindset necessary to continue our trajectory forward toward our destiny. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Dagaz. Our future contains one of constant enlightenment as we move toward our destiny of understanding. To ensure we arrive there we must be willing to make bold changes within our lives, and our current understanding. Be willing and able to learn as we travel, we can expect that our spiritual growth will directly equate to our physical travel. The awakening needed is occurring , we must continue its growth by actively moving in that direction while retaining the willingness to listen with our hearts to the ancestors, as they will illuminate the way.

Today the runes have revealed Laguz in our past issuing us warnings about becoming too lofty in our cognitive thinking. While it is wonderful to keep our heads in the clouds within a dream, we must remember to keep our feet on the physical ground. We must ensure that we maintain an avoidance to allowing the toxicity and poison of the modern world into our conscious thought. Our present influence is that of Mannaz. Mannaz is the rune of the perfected intellect, and rational mind. Today it reminds us of using our own thought process against the experiences that occur in our lives. Remembering always our connection to the higher form of energy, or gods. Mannaz speaks to us today about the application of social expectation, and our overall structure of our existence to include sustaining our relationships with our deities. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Algiz. Having Algiz in our future indicates that we will continue to seek and receive a connection to the gods of our beliefs. In addition, we are awakening the ideas of divine communications, and the necessity to have that energy in our everyday existence. While projecting our energy to the gods is a powerful part of Algiz, so too is the listening component. Listening to our heart to what the ancestors bring to us. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Perthro. As we retain our abilities from the here to our future, Perthro speaks about being open to evolutionary changes within our thought processes and emotional states. Remember that our existence is about the journey, not of the destination. Learning to manage the energy within our existence is the lessons we are to take away from this life. We would do well to focus our attention to learning these lessons.

As Ehwaz reveals itself in understanding the effect that our past has on our current situation and thought process, we quickly realize that its in an upright position indicating that it is identifying the needed qualities of life. Primarily it tells of the necessity of trust. Trust, not only between two people such as friends, life partner, and teamwork, but trust of the self to establish the harmony within oneself. Our present influence is that of Isa, the rune of Ice. Although the rune of ice would indicate a stagnation or temporary paralyzation, it also means that of self-image, for it is easy to see our reflection in ice. This reflection affords us the opportunity to bring the two sides of the self together in a necessary way to obtain a better mental health. Bringing our two parts together in cooperation affords us to move forward, and think in a more perfected balance between the heart and mind. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Hagalaz. With Hagalaz in our future position, this would indicate that the chaos of life will continue well into our future and we must be able and willing to control our response to these events. Hagalaz speaks to the identification of those inner traits that can maintain our mental space through. Traits like the inner harmony, controlling the crisis, changes for the long-term good. While it may signify chaos, our response to this chaos is what will make us stronger. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Wunjo. In today’s understanding we find the drawing of Wunjo in an upright position would indicate our ability to dream the big dreams necessary to foster our forward trajectory. This rune reminds us that we are well on our way to the success that we truly want, while reminding us that we need to keep our dreams out in front bringing our reality along behind them. Do not fear the big dreams, for they provide the focus to generate the energy stream of hope.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Dagaz, the rune of enlightenment. As is revealed by Dagaz being in our past, our enlightenment is at hand. We have begun the journey toward our realization of our paradigm shift. Remembering that enlightenment is a journey and not a destination, we have made the shift within our mind to focus on embracing that which brings us joy, harmony, and peace. We have made the mental shift to achieving a higher form of our selves. Our present influence is that of Kenaz, and because Kenaz has been revealed in our present, this indicates that we have initiated our cognitive ability to achieve a clarity of thought. By arranging our thoughts in an organized fashion, we are now opening ourselves to new information, new perspectives of old information, as well as opening our minds to the possibilities of what’s is out there in the spiritual path. This is a great rune to have in our present space. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Laguz. The rune Laguz in our future reveals the reality of maintaining our dreams and goals, for we know that without the active seeking of growth and understanding, there will be none. Laguz reminds us that we must be willing to employ the energy of hope within our everyday lives that this energy is combined with a certain level of trust to establish the love we have for ourselves and others. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Mannaz. In today’s understanding, Mannaz is revealed to us in an upside-down position indicating that it offers us a warning as to controlling our intellectual acquisition. By ensuring that we remember that there are as many understandings of our paths as there are people to travel those paths, we come to an understanding that each belief offers us a small vision into the soul of the individual. We too must remove our critical eyes to another’s path.

Typically, in an inverted state, Perthro speaks to delusions, fantasy, stagnation, and psychological addiction, however, today Perthro, being in our past says that we have conquered those thoughts and desires, beaten back those influential energies. We would do well to remember these lessons and retain them for the path ahead. Our present influence is that of Hagalaz, the rune of chaos. Because Hagalaz has been revealed in our present, this indicates that we have initiated a change in our mindset, our way of being. Hagalaz indicates the changes are for the long-term good, so the path that we have chosen in our lives will serve us well to reach the next stage in our lifetimes. Hagalaz reminds us of our inner harmony, and living according to our values. This will serve us well moving into our future. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Ehwaz, the rune of trust. As always, our future relies on the choices that we initiate today, therefore we must trust in ourselves to make the right choice of our path forward. Ehwaz also reminds us that we are never alone in our journey, for we have friends among the physical plane that we may not have discovered yet. Our ancestors stand ready to assist us in every step we take. The universe is filled with those to support us. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Laguz. Laguz reminds us of having the ability and willingness to invoke the powerful energy of hope. Dreams, and the astral plane are powered and supported by the eternal energy of hope. We must kindle and continue to stoke the furnace of hope within our existence. Even when our circumstance seems to be at its worst, hope is the energy that can change our reality. Hold on to it with both hands.

This would indicate that you have accomplished some series of tasks in our past which has let us to a certain level of joy. Wunjo contains the ideas of wishful thinking, and optimism, which indicates that we have recently had a boost to the energy of hope that burns within us. Our present influence is that of Dagaz, the rune of change. Dagaz reveals that we are currently going through a paradigm shift within our mind, becoming more powerful in our decisions which thought process to engage, or allow to be engaged. This indicates that we are well on our way to spiritual enlightenment and understanding. Dagaz indicates that we are making some bold changes within our mind to move forward in our lives. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Nauthiz, a rune of action. Our future depends on the actions we make today, whether those actions move us, or they are inaction is purely up to each of us. Nauthiz speaks of a path forward that is uphill, therefore we must allow our momentum to carry us forward, and power our way through. Each of us has the mental strength necessary, the key is to NEVER QUIT. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune Kenaz, and today it offers us cautions as it is inverted. While the ideas of change and forward evolution are optimal, we must exercise control as we reach the pinnacle of our understanding as to not become an elitist, or extremist who then attempts to force our perspective on others, simply retaining the idea of humility in an existence that is eternal.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Hagalaz, the rune of chaos. This is the ideal rune to display our past as it represents the construction of order within our lives arriving at this moment. The moment when the changes of our desires are beginning to take shape and inching us closer to inner-harmony and peace. This represents the portion of our lifetime that we have spent not understanding what it all meant. The time before our life’s purpose had been discovered. Our present influence is that of Sowilo, the rune of the soul. Our present is guided by the power of Sowilo, indicating that we are discovering our life’s purpose. We are initiating the action necessary to move us from the chaos of our past to that of order and understanding. Sowilo reveals that we are becoming whole, even if we don’t feel like it. While some of our existence may still seem to be chaotic and haphazard, the intrinsic infrastructure is being formed to move forward. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Tiwaz, and today the god of courage, Tyr issues us cautions moving into our future. Today the rune is cautioning us about over extending ourselves, trying to be too much to too many people at the same time. The rune represents righteousness and honor, however is in an inverted position indicating strongly that we need to focus on remaining honest with others, and with ourselves, to ensure we don’t succumb to mental-paralysis. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune ihwaz, the divine feminine. In much the same way we maintain our physical bodies through sustenance, we must also ensure we are maintaining our emotional health as well. Ihwaz represents the Kundalini, or divine feminine, which encourages us to embrace an emotional intellect, to fulfill the intrinsic necessity of nurture, instead of nature. Educate those around us with velvet gloves instead of the iron fists.
