As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Each morning, I engage in conversation with my gods. During which they offer me wisdom and guidance, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my experiences throughout the years, and especially over the last several decades, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s talks. However, as I offer you the wisdom given to me, I encourage you to seek the answers within yourself, as each of us travels a different path, therefore our perspectives are a little different. 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Perthro, and today it offers us cautions. While Perthro normally represents that of the prophecy, today it offers us warnings about carrying our scars from the past into our future. By learning to decouple the emotional energy from the actual life event, we can enlighten our path forward, leaving behind the carnage left within the mind from the battles of the past.

Our present influence is that of Sowilo, the rune of wholeness. By leaving behind the emotional baggage of the past, we open ourselves to new possibilities of a much different future. We must force ourself to obtain the faith in the outcome, for we may have discovered our life’s purpose along the way to the brighter future on the road ahead.  Believe in the energy of the cosmos to heal and guide, reach out to the ancestors.

To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Fehu, the rune of young love. Our future is not written yet, we have the opportunity to alter our trajectory in any way we desire. Fehu in our future indicates that the universe recognizes out ability to adapt to new beginnings with the foresight offered by the ancestors. Let our heart lead the way and we’ll never be lost on our journey.

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Isa, the rune of ice. While ice can freeze things in place, locking them into a particular position, it also offers us the opportunity to closely observe that which is around us. By learning these micro learning opportunities in our close proximity, we can be better prepared when it is time to move forward again. This path offers us the unity of being oneself.

How can we use this today?

Leaving behind a past of emotional damage can either seal off the heart, or open it, the choice is ours to make. Decoupling the emotions from the events affords us the opportunity to learn from these events and not repeat them. Instead, choosing to learn and grow into our future selves.
