As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Dagen’s Indsigt

Each morning, I engage in conversation with my gods. During which they offer me wisdom and guidance, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my experiences throughout the years, and especially over the last several decades, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s talks. However, as I offer you the wisdom given to me, I encourage you to seek the answers within yourself, as each of us travels a different path, therefore our perspectives are a little different. 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Perthro, the rune of prophecy. We all have endured a past with what seemed to be irrelevant information, but would be revealed as a prophecy of things to come. These prophecies, offered by the fates, and the gods, have ensured us that we are on the correct path, even when it may not “feel” entirely accurate. We will be unable to recognize our true path until we arrive at the trailhead that leads away from where we are today. This is the process of “moving” through our trajectory on our chosen paths, we must get ourselves to the trailheads that lead off on a new path.

Our present influence is that of Gebo, the rune of graciousness. Today, in our present, we need to not only consider the many different materialistic things, as well as people that the universe has led us to cross paths with, but also the fact that we have had the ability and assistance to move across the many paths on our own. Often, we forget that we have accomplished so many little things that we may have forgotten them, however, the universe has aligned each of the paths to cross when each of the parties involved were ready. Taking time to offer our graciousness to the universe for the path we have led through this lifetime.

To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Raidho, the rune of origin. Although today Raidho issues us cautions as we move into our future. The rune itself indicates the origin story, our “from” in our lifetime trajectory. We must constantly remind ourselves that we are evolving as we are moving through life. We must not allow ourselves to forego our unknown forward path for the safety of the known past. Ships would never reach a faraway destination without ever losing sight of the land. Do not allow yourself to become a prisoner within your own thoughts, become the master of your own ship and grab the rudder to steer for the deep water beneath the horizon.

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Ehwaz, the rune of trust. Today, Ehwaz reminds us that we must retain the trust we have within ourselves for our self. Do not let the energies of uncertainty and doubt hold you back or steer you off your course. Hold fast. Believe in yourself, but also keep family and friends close at hand, for even the roughest of seas can be tamed when you have these friends and family close at hand. This rune should be a reminder to remain in harmony with our fellow lifeforms on the plane of existence. Harmony breeds peace within the mind. Seek harmony always.

Prophecies have provided guidance for hundreds of thousands of years, and like then, they will offer a level of comfort within the mind knowing what is coming. Take time to embrace the trust of ourselves, we have learned lessons that will provide us with a good foundation at which to travel our life’s trajectory. Trust yourself, and keep your friends and family close.
