As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Each morning, I engage in conversation with my gods. During which they offer me wisdom and guidance, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my experiences throughout the years, and especially over the last several decades, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s talks. However, as I offer you the wisdom given to me, I encourage you to seek the answers within yourself, as each of us travels a different path, therefore our perspectives are a little different. 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Ehwaz, the rune of trust. Being revealed in our past, Ehwaz indicates that throughout our past experiences it has been many times that the faith in our friends, our family, and others has carried the weight of worry forward. Now is the time to be gracious and offer these support columns our gratitude for being a part of our support system as we have learned and grown throughout. It also represents the trust we have had in ourselves to achieve the victory over our past. 

Our present influence reveals Sowilo, the rune of wholeness. Sowilo in our present reveals that we are now accomplishing a deeper look into ourselves. Throughout the trials and tribulations, we have endured of our past, we have reached the point where are focus is turning more intrinsically now. Being willing and able to work with the cosmic energies will afford us an opportunity to discover our true life’s purpose. It brings an awareness of the journey, and just as importantly, the destination on the horizon.

To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Mannaz, and today it offers us warning as to understanding the journey. Today Mannaz cautions us about becoming arrogant in the wisdom provided by the spirits as it has been a gift to each of us. While processing the information in a relational way within the mind offers us great potential to embracing new knowledge, we must remember that this information may, or may not, be in alignment with other’s journeys. Offer without any expectations of compliance.

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Uruz, the rune of manifestation. According to the runes, the revelatino of Uruz in our “bedrock” position indicates that we should remember that our journey requires a lot of tenacity, constancy, strength, and a little dash of luck. It reminds us that although we have the strength and skill to accomplish much, the gods may, or may not, grant us additional favor, therefore we need to be prepared to put our shoulder into the stone to acquire the flour.
