As we seek to understand the influences that we have experienced, as well as the experiences we’ve yet to have, we search for an answer as to what force we must keep in reserve to help us on our path toward our destiny. To visualize these influences and counter-energies, we will call upon the layout of the “four winds” that we may learn of our adversaries and allies in our mental battle for safety.

Each morning, I engage in conversation with my gods. During which they offer me wisdom and guidance, and in return I offer them myself that they may do with that which they need to. I have felt the gods manage my experiences throughout the years, and especially over the last several decades, engaging me in a multitude of ways. Today, I offer to you that which was told to me by the gods in this morning’s talks. However, as I offer you the wisdom given to me, I encourage you to seek the answers within yourself, as each of us travels a different path, therefore our perspectives are a little different. 

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Thurisaz, the rune of enthusiasm, and today it issues us cautions as to the continued carrying of guilt/shame, or frustration from our past. The lessons we have had to endure in the past were experienced to bring intellect to our mind regarding the finding of our trajectory along the way. These lessons were there for a reason, never intended to be a life sentence. Let the pain go, absorb the lessons and move on with living.

Our present influence is that of Fehu, the rune of young love, and today it offers us cautions to observe within our present. While the rune is typically indicative of finances and success, today it cautions us as to where our allegiances lie. Are we more interested in materialistic gains, or do we seek a higher purpose? With Fehu in our present, we must recognize that there exists a delicate balance between our definitions of success. Are your goals aligned with your heart, or your easily tricked mind?  

To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Berkano, the rune of the mature wisdom. Our future, driven by the energy of Berkano indicates that our forward trajectory includes those life changes, but also shelter and sanctuary. This forward trajectory will follow your designated direction to the rebirth of your understanding about your own spirituality and beliefs therein. Embrace the time to surround your heart and mind with those spiritual energies that will offer you strength.

To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Mannaz, the rune of our perfected Intellect. Mannaz speaks to us about remembering the path that you have taken and the lessons you have learned to obtain the level of intellect you have now. These have been lessons on living our lives through the emotional understandings of our heart. The rune reminds us of the inclusion of the self within the divine structure of the cosmos.

How can we use this today?

We have learned some very valuable lessons within our past, and now is not the time to forget them. But we are cautioned to retaining ONLY the lessons and not the emotional energy that may accompany them. Be able to separate the lessons from the sting of the emotional energy will offer us the ability to grow and evolve.
