Dagaz represents the paradigm shift within our perspective of the experiences we have had in the past. While it is easy to identify perceived failures within our past, the value to our forward trajectory is nil. Learning the lessons of emotional interaction with the self, and with others, is a very powerful part of our physical existence and needs to be embraced. Creating a positive memory from the past experiences is the best way to move ourself forward in our evolution. Our present influence reveals Odinn’s Rune. Odinn’s Rune requires additional communication through prayer or channeling the god’s desires for us to know. Today Odinn has enlightened me to understanding that I alone, control the way in which I look at the reality unfolding around me. By determining my desired mindset, I can direct the generated energy of the emotional process within me to alter the outcome to my will. Odinn reminds me that by remembering my intrinsic values (or virtues) I can define the interpretation my mind makes of the experiences I have. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Perthro. In today’s reading Perthro indicates a prophecy is being played out here in our physical existence. The reminder we are given about the prophecy here is that there is nothing we can do to alter the completion of the prophecy, for even if we do something out-of-character, the prophecies have already foretold of this state. It is better for us to simply understand fully the path that the prophecy sets, and move in that direction, for like many other things in our lives, prophecies are milestones along our journey through existence. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Fehu, the rune of new beginnings. Fehu, being the first rune of the alphabet, reveals the energy of abundance. We should maintain the freedom within the mind to make choices between the paths of our lifetimes based on what experiences we have. Being willing and able to accept the challenges of path changes throughout our lives should be an elemental force in our existence. We have the control of our perspective and should manipulate it as we need to finding peace along the way.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Raidho, the rune of the origin. Raidho represents the "from" in our lifetime journey of learning. It recognizes the cosmic cyclic law of rhythm. In today’s reading, it represents the lessons we have learned from our experiences before today, arriving at this point in time where we can make a conscious decision as to which path we will travel on moving forward. Although our journey is not "already decided upon" many of the influences we will recognize offer us known and unknown opportunities. Our present influence is that of Jera, the rune of the seasons. Today, Jera in our present, reminds us that the experiences we have in this lifetime are provided when we are ready to see them, and each experience is provided for a particular reason. As the inhale almost forces the exhale, the winter drives the summer, there is a rhythm to our experiences and the deities will provide them when our mindset has been adjusted enough to see them. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Berkano. In today’s reading Berkano cautions us about our future. While the rune, within the context of this warning of our future alerts us to energies of negativity, like insecurity, conspiracy, stagnation, and others, by offering us the visibility of the potential of these energies within our existence, we have the opportunity to alter the course of our trajectory thereby avoiding them. Our present reminds us of these paths that we can choose from, where we decide which path to take. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Ihwaz, the rune of the divine feminine. We should remember there we alone control the energies within our mind, which then drives the recognition of emotional states. Ihwaz reveals the protection and endurance provided by the inclusion of an understanding of the spiritual energy around us. As Ihwaz also highlights this "movement toward enlightenment", each step we take in our physical life assists us in absorbing spiritual energy, ultimately achieving this enlightenment.

To reveal the influences of our past, we have drawn the rune of Algiz, the rune of listening. Today Algiz reminds us of the time in our previous experiences where we listened. Although the sensory input of audio is a very powerful one, we must remember that it could also have encouraged our imagination, so having more than one sensory input to validate an experience is better than not. Being sure that we are truly listening and not just waiting for the other to finish, so we may speak is truly an art. We are reminded that listening with our whole being is a great way to build intellect and wisdom within the mind. Our present influence is that of Isa, the rune of ice. Isa within our present influence reminds us of our self-identity. The rune offers us an understanding of the importance of establishing our self-worth through intrinsic reflection and management. Our intrinsic values have been initially placed by others within our existence that we have given a level of authority to. This does not mean that we are forever bound to their values, for if we discover a new path in our lives, we are not required to maintain the current views on the new path. Be courageous enough to change if that is what you truly want. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Wunjo, the rune of optimism. Wunjo brings a gift from our future self, an understanding that the energy of hope can move us from where we are today to where we want to be. By engaging our friends around us, we are more than capable of achieving joy and harmony within our existence. Laughing is indeed the best medicine, and including others in that laughter spreads the energy of hope. Which, when returned to you, has been multiplied exponentially. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Hagalaz, the rune of chaos. Not as much chaos itself, as it is the recognition of chaos as a state. By preparing ourselves to establish order within the chaos of our future, we are preparing ourself ahead of time. This preparation will go a long way in avoiding certain experiences within our life to ensure that mental control is maintained. The ability to recognize a potentiality of chaos entering into our energy field opens the reality of controlling this chaos and minimizing the negative effect associated with the natural chaos of life.

Today Inguz arrives in our past to remind us of the lessons that we have been given through the many experiences that we have had. Its revelation here is that although we may have spent much time in contemplation regarding the lessons that we should have received from these past engagements, these lessons will not be fully revealed to us until we are ready to use the information provided. We must seek patience. Our incurred wisdom will appear in our decisions when the tests arrive for them. Our present influence is that of Tiwaz, the rune of honor and truth, although today it brings us cautions. By receiving these cautions in our present, this would indicate that we are currently experiencing some level of fear. These cautions indicate that we fear defeat, imbalance, injustice, or mental paralysis due to this sense of fear within us. Our present moment gives us an opportunity to understand this, and make a conscious decision to redirect ourselves to a different path, one of joy, comfort, and harmony. This choice is ours. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Ehwaz, the rune of trust, however today, it brings cautions. Ehwaz reveals our worries about lost relationships, or enemies, yet there may be no evidence to support this energy passage. Others may be reflecting this energy upon you, as they may be struggling with the energy of self-worth. You must embrace the trust in yourself that the decisions you need to make will have the answers revealed to you at the proper time. Be patient, for the universe will not inflict upon us a need for something we have yet to learn. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Kenaz, one of the runes of humility. Many times, our imagination may over-inflate our ego for the victories accomplished in our everyday living, however, we must remember that it is just as simplistic to remove those things as it was to gain them. Exercise humility and graciousness for those lessons that the universe has given us, for they truly are a gift. Stay true to the intrinsic values you carry, for they represent not only you, but your ancestors as well.

We are carrying many different energies of the past, whether those be previous life experiences, or generational influences that are unhealthy. We must learn to separate the lessons from the emotions of our past memories, leaving the influences of those events behind and choose a new path forward. Our present influence is that of Othala, the rune of ancestral energies. Our present is beginning to look outside of the paradigm we have grown up with, we are beginning to see a bigger picture. In some cases, we find that the enormity of the spiritual realm and ancestral connections can be overwhelming to the physical mind. Remember there are many around us who have already made connections with their ancestors, do not concern ourselves, begin to learn in earnest, that which can bring you peace of mind, your family. To further reveal our future influences, we have drawn the rune of Sowilo, the rune of wholeness. Othala reveals that we are now beginning to seek a larger view of our existence, and understanding our ancestral connections. Sowilo indicates the arrival of our two parts, the spiritual and the physical. Drawn together to form the entirety of our existence. This joining of the parts should offer you the faith in the outcome, and certainly a new life’s purpose. Sowilo in our future indicates that the part we have chosen to our ancestors will bring us to wholeness. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Mannaz, one of the runes of perfected intellect. As you have begun a journey of discovering your ancestry, which will lead you to discovering your spiritual part, we must retain the intellect given by our ancestors as to the ways for a better life. The interconnectivity that you are obtaining as you join your two sides will reveal much that you have wanted to know, to pay attention and make notes, for the intellect may be overwhelming to our physical minds.

Today, the spirits indicate that the past you have experienced can be whatever you want it to be. Whether you choose to review it in a negative fashion and accumulate the losses or failures, or we alter our perspective and review our past as necessary steps to obtain our present. The perspective change, and lessons retained, are completely up to us. Our present influence is that of Algiz, the rune of listening. Algiz indicates that are present is about learning to listen with our heart and not our ears. Remembering that our ancestors will interact with us through the use of our heart and emotional energies, we must put down our demands for directions, and feel our way to our destiny. While Berkano offers us cautions, we must keep in mind that we alone are the authoritive force within our minds as to the perspective we carry forward. While Berkano cautions us about deceit, conspiracy, insecurity, it also ensures that we are aware of these potential influences in our future and alter our trajectory to avoid them. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Kenaz, one of the runes of humility. Within the realm of those things to carry forward, the rune Kenaz reminds us that new information will constantly be arriving through our physical sensory inputs and we must remain open to our ancestry that they may provide for us their experiences that we can incorporate in moving forward. As we remain humble, our emotional connection to these ancestors will continue to become stronger.

Today, our past may have included many previous attempts at personal development and bringing together the experiences in an attempt to gain the lessons. The lessons that you have been taught from the experiences in your past will be revealed to you when you are ready to receive them. Everything in our understandings must be processed by the heart and mind at a particular energy cycle. Instead of manifesting stressful energy over it, simply open your heart and mind and the lessons will be revealed to you. Our present influence is that of Jera, the rune of universal cycles. Like breathing, Jera presents a cyclic pattern within our existence. Always on-time for the heart and mind to accept the reality being presented to us in our existence. Jera says that every interaction we have will occur when the cycle is ready for it to be completed. Our expectations will always exceed our realizations as many different energy interactions will need to occur before, during, and after, a particular lesson within this lifetime. We need to focus on allowing this cyclic pattern teach us to be patient for the next breath. Although our future is not carved in stone yet, meaning we can still affect change, we will need to exercise some level of caution as we move forward along our path. In this reversed state it cautions us about arrogance and blindness to the influential energies around us. Maintaining our wall of denial against negative energies in our everyday life is simply the result of distracting ourselves with forms of pleasure. Be happy and the reality will unfold according to the cosmic plan, teaching us what we need to know. To understand what influences we should retain, we have drawn the rune, Nauthiz, one of the runes of action. The key to uncovering true happiness is to actively seek it. What we seek, we will find. This should be our mantra and should dominate our interactivity with all the energies around us. As we focus our energies on seeking happiness, peace, and harmony, those things will be drawn to the energy that we are generating. It is this action step that creates the energy necessary to manifest those sought after energies. Stay fully engaged in our search and it will be revealed.
