Updates for October 12th

Namaste, Hej, and Hello, There was a time when this path was mine alone. I walked it in quiet places—listening for the echoes of the old songs, tracing the runes that seemed to rise from the land itself. The lessons were many, but one truth spoke louder than the rest: a single traveler may find wisdom, but it takes a circle to keep the fire alive.
That understanding gave rise to what we now call Alaska Úlfhéðnar—a living effort to turn the inward journey outward, to weave a fellowship from what was once a solitary road. By forming this nonprofit, we’ve carved a second rune beside the first: the self and the many, bound together by purpose.
We are a circle of people drawn to the same call—to bring the value of our ancestry forward into the present day, not as relics, but as tools for living. Each act of remembrance, each conversation, each teaching adds another stone to the foothold we’re building in the mountain range of life that stretches before us.
This newsletter, The Traveler’s Rune, will be both guidepost and gathering place. Here, we share the work being done, the wisdom uncovered, and the community forming around the fire. My hope is that, as these words reach you, you’ll see your own path reflected in ours—and know that the way ahead is meant to be walked together.
With respect and gratitude, Mark Weisman Chair of the Board, Alaska Úlfhéðnar
